Through the Jakarta Sales Mission 2026, the Jakarta Provincial Government seeks to further position Jakarta as a leading leisure, business, and MICE destination in Southeast Asia while supporting sustainable tourism and economic growth.

The Jakarta Provincial Government, through the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (Disparekraf), is once again holding the Jakarta Sales Mission for the Chinese Market 2026 in two strategic cities, Xiamen and Shanghai. This agenda is part of Jakarta’s active participation in targeting strategic market shares, as well as a continuation of the success of similar programs last year.

This aggressive initiative is driven by data from Statistics Indonesia (BPS), which recorded China as the highest contributor of foreign tourists to Jakarta in 2025, reaching a total of 227,000 visits. Consequently, promoting Jakarta through the Sales Mission in the Chinese market serves as a strategic move to attract Chinese tourists to visit Jakarta during the upcoming school and summer holidays in July.

“The Chinese market has tremendous potential, with the fastest-growing number of outbound travelers in the world. This Jakarta Sales Mission is our concrete step to promote directly, capture investment opportunities, and strengthen cooperation in the creative economy,” said Andhika Permata, Head of the Jakarta Provincial Tourism and Creative Economy Agency.

To maximize the potential for business cooperation (B2B networking), the Jakarta Provincial Government has brought along 17 leading tourism industry players ready to offer Jakarta’s best tour packages: Hospitality & Restaurant Sector: PHRI (Indonesian Hotel and Restaurant Association), Park Hyatt Jakarta, Plataran Indonesia, DoubleTree by Hilton Jakarta Diponegoro, Hotel Mulia Senayan, Aryaduta Hotels Group, Santika Indonesia Hotels & Resorts, Gran Melia Jakarta, and Novotel Hotel Mangga Dua; Travel Agent & Tour Operator Sector: Nusaraya Tour and Travel, Nuansa Mandiri Tour, Satguru Travel, Panorama Destination, and Universal Tour & Travel. Tourist Destinations & Activities (PUTRI & APLGI): Jakarta Aquarium Safari, Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), and Emeralda Golf Club.

This mission is designed to strengthen Jakarta’s position as a premier leisure and business destination in Southeast Asia. Jakarta offers a comprehensive tourism ecosystem—ranging from shopping tourism, rich culinary experiences, urban culture, lifestyle tourism, and beautiful beaches, to international-standard MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) facilities.

Lucky Wulandari, Head of Marketing and Attractions at the Jakarta Tourism and Creative Economy Agency, explained that the direct approach through the Sales Mission is highly effective in building market trust and expanding networks with outbound travel agents, tour operators, and airlines in China. This success is evident from the potential transaction value of IDR 5,597,790,000 recorded at the Jakarta Sales Mission in Xiamen on May 22, 2026, and a remarkable potential transaction value reaching IDR 82,746,865,000 at the Jakarta Sales Mission in Shanghai on May 25, 2026.

Through this synergy, the Jakarta Provincial Government is optimistic about significantly boosting foreign tourist arrivals, attracting new investments in the tourism and creative economy sector, and driving sustainable regional economic growth.
