Showcasing DNA damage analysis, BCI, and non-invasive diagnostics from Japanese universities. New opportunities for investment and clinical collaboration.

Campus Create., Ltd. (Representitive Director: Megumi Takahashi; 1-5-1 Chofu-ga-oka, Chofu, Tokyo, inside the University of Electro-Communications) is Japan’s Technology Licensing Organizations with wide-area operations, supporting the technology transfer of university research seeds to industry for over 25 years. It has built a strong academic network comprising more than 84 research institutions and universities across Japan. The organization promotes and connects early-stage seed technologies with industry needs, helping to establish joint development projects.

Currently, Campus Create is offering a “hands-on support program” to help Japanese startups in the medical and healthcare fields expand into the global market with Singapore as a base. Participating startups and researchers offer innovative solutions such as “Cancer risk estimation based on DNA damage analysis”, “One-minute visualization of fall risk”, “Non-invasive detection of fibrosis”, “Restoration of limb movement after stroke using BCI”, “High-precision sleep AI”, “Daily health monitoring via skin gas analysis”, etc.

Campus Create is now seeking Singapore-based venture capital firms, businesses, and researchers interested in collaborating with these startups. Individual business meetings (both online and in-person) will be arranged.

Startup Introductions

1. Dinow Inc.
 A venture from Ibaraki University. Introduces a new assessment method for the health challenges of radiation workers through DNA damage evaluation. Provides an innovative healthcare service estimating cancer risk by analyzing DNA damage from just one drop of blood.

2. UNTRACKED Inc.
 A venture from Yokohama National University. Developed a wearable device that visualizes fall risk in just one minute. The device enables comprehensive evaluation of sensory and physical abilities linked to fall risk, which has been difficult to measure with conventional methods.

3. ASEMtech Inc.
 A venture from Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology. Developed a new non-invasive imaging diagnostic and testing platform based on ASEM technology. Enables high-precision visualization of fibrosis and degenerative tissue changes that are difficult to detect with conventional CT or MRI.

4.LIFESCAPES Inc.
 A venture from Keio University. Developed brain-computer interface (BCI) technology for treating severe upper limb disabilities after stroke. This BCI system aims to reorganize brain circuits to enable hand movement even after device removal, seeking widespread application in neurorehabilitation.

5. ACCELStars, Inc.
 A venture from the University of Tokyo. Uses advanced AI and data science to elucidate sleep mechanisms and support new drug discovery. Developed a wrist-worn high-precision sleep measurement AI, surpassing Fitbit and Apple Watch, with particular accuracy in analyzing wakefulness disorders.

6.Research by Professor Yoshika Sekine, Tokai University
 Research on skin gas analysis. Prof. Sekine explores health monitoring through various volatile compounds emitted from the skin surface (alcohol, stress, dietary detection), as well as potential industrial applications including personal identification through skin gas pattern analysis.
